About Us

The West Virginia Association of Free Clinics (WVAFC) was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) on June 18, 2001 with the mission to advance and promote access to healthcare for uninsured and medically underserved West Virginians. It exists to advocate for WV's Free clinics and the patients they serve to secure funding sources necessary to treat the patients served by its member clinics' programs, and to assist the clinics with transitions and issues that impact all free clinics in West Virginia. The WVAFC strives to be a driving force for a just, accessible, and quality health care system statewide.

Free Clinics in WV provide comprehensive patient centered health care to the thousands of WV adults, ages 18 and up, who are uninsured/under-insured. They are developed from the communities they serve. Patients receive culturally relevant care from providers in their neighborhood, who share their experiences and understand their needs and concerns.
