Who We Are
West Virginia Association of Free Clinics is a non-profit organization serving as an advocate for WV’s member free clinics and for the populations they serve. What is a free clinic? Free Clinics offer a variety of free-of-charge health care services to those who don’t have access to health care through traditional methods. In West Virginia, Free Clinics are supported with state funding and also look to their local communities for support through cash and inkind donations.
What We Do
The WVAFC is best described as “a network of compassion, volunteerism and quality health care services for those who cannot afford health insurance.” In addition to general medical and prescription services, Free Clinics may offer such services as oral health, specialty services (cardiac, podiatry, endocrinology), lab testing, diagnostic procedures, family planning, breast/cervical cancer screening, health education, and group counseling (depression, anxiety, and stress).
